Mt Lofty House is situated on the peak of the Mt Lofty Ranges in the heart of the Adelaide Hills. The stunning views of the city and the ranges provide amazing backdrops for couples who choose this venue for their wedding day.
Mt Lofty House has rows of vines to the front of the house. Nets are used to keep birds off the vines, but they are removed before any wedding guests arrive, so the view is always lovely. Some magic photos can be created in the rows of vines, especially during the "golden hour," when the light is low just before sunset. Often the golden hour is in the middle of the reception but as the vines aren't far from the festivities, guests won't even notice you have taken a few minutes out to get some photos. It also provides a few minutes just for the two of you to catch your breath and enjoy the fresh, country air. Timing of these "golden hour" photos is critical, as due to the location the sun drops behind the trees and valleys of the Mt Lofty Ranges about half an hour before it actually sets.
Nicole and Andrew were married in December at Mt Lofty House. She chose a gorgeous lace bridal gown from Adelaide Bridal Emporium which was perfect for the warmer weather. The Adelaide Hills is generally 3-5 degrees cooler than the Adelaide city so the summer evenings are typically milder and incredibly tranquil. There is almost no traffic going past Mt Lofty House in the evening so the venue is pretty much all yours.
Adequate car parking is tucked neatly behind hedges for you and your guests. Accommodation is provided for guests to stay the night if that is something they would like to do.
