End-of-life pet photography has become a popular thing around the world, and I can understand why. Much-loved animals become family members. Capturing their personality and the bond of love you have with them is a special thing.
Rescued from a ‘Greyhound Adoption Programme‘ in 2017 at the age of two, Candy slid gently into the hearts of everyone, especially Louise. The sleek beauty was always happy, especially when Louise walked through the door of an evening. She would bound off her favourite doggy bed and tap dance her welcome! The pair spent as much time together as possible, including beach walks and doggy play dates with her canine best friend Rosie. She even joined Louise & Co on the maiden voyage of their sailboat, Wave Dancer.
In January this year, a lump was found in one of Candy’s hindlegs, so she became a three-legged champion. Sadly, another node was recently discovered in one of her front legs, so Candy’s days with Louise are numbered.
Kendall, Rosie’s owner, bought Louise an end-of-life dog photoshoot gift voucher as a gesture of friendship and care. So we met at the Balhannah Dog Park for an hour of photos. As Louise’s Mum was across from Western Australia to help care for Candy for a week, we had pictures with her, too.
