On a visit to Lot 100 in the Adelaide Hills, Betty announced to the world, “I want to get married here.” Being a Sydney-sider, that was unlikely – unless, of course, she married an Adelaide boy.
“I’ve found someone you might be interested in,” I told her. “He’s smart, good-looking, loves people, has a good family, and is an optometrist.” Working both sides, I told Daniel, “She’s smart, pretty, loves people, has a good family and is a nurse.” And so the seeds were planted.
So…on a golden day in late March 2024, family and friends gathered to witness their wedding – at Lot 100!
“Betty, I love you so much as the women that you are today and I am ridiculously excited to fall more in love with the woman that you become as we grow together in the years ahead. We have been so blessed to be raised in villages and it is in front of these, our people and our God, I take you to be my wife and make these vows to you for as long as we both have left in this beautiful life.”

“Dan, you are the easiest person to love, you have the biggest heart, and I am so lucky that I get to love you each and every day. Today and everyday, I choose you above all others as my best friend, my partner, my love, my husband. Dan, I give you my love and myself fully and completely, I promise to love and care for you in sickness and health and to be faithful to you, and only you, for the rest of my life, or until Christ returns.”

It was a beautiful afternoon, and Lot 100 is an impressive, elegant venue that is modern in an understated way. The wedding took place on the lush green lawn overlooking golden paddocks where cattle graze, and rows of plentiful veggie beds on the border.
Beth looked incredibly striking in a Kyha gown with her bridesmaids in ivory Aje frocks by her side. Dan looked dapper in his velvet tux, accompanied by his dashing ‘Italian stallion’ brothers.
Elsa and Grey provided the burst of colour with the most beautiful bouquets and florals, which reflected Betty and Dan’s passion for flowers and gardening.
Guests were impressed with the friendly service, the fruit cocktails, and the range of drinks, for which the venue is well-known. One described the food as the best they had ever tasted at a wedding – high praise indeed. Wood-fired pizzas Naples-style, diverse antipasti, succulent meat, vegetables and salads, cannoli, and a ‘midnight snack’ of pasta and chips into the evening for those who wished to take the celebrations into the wee hours. It all went without a hitch. So well done.
Blessings to you, Dan and Betty x
