{Jess + Rory}
Jess and Rory had a garden wedding on the lawns of Jess’ Mum’s Aldgate home in the Adelaide Hills. Surrounded by beautiful cottage gardens, family and friends were delighted to share this small, intimate wedding. When we think of weddings, our ideal would be a happy atmosphere, well-run ceremony, heart-warming, insightful, and funny speeches, fabulous food and wine, beautiful surrounds, great music – and, of course, a gorgeous bride and groom! That’s what Rory and Jess planned – and it pretty much went to plan. The light drizzle didn’t hold anybody back. The sun came out during the speeches on the lawns, and then with a large porch and warm blankets, the reception was one happy celebration!
Their Love Story:
Jessica and Rory’s love story began one evening at Southbank in Brisbane with a glass of shiraz, and bellies full of baklava! Jess was worried she might have shown her true colours too early when she asked for a second scoop of ice cream with a dessert that night. She needn’t have worried, because it was, at this moment, Rory decided she was a keeper!
Rory’s love grew stronger the more time he spent with Jess. On one of their earlier dates, he had an early morning big open water swim down at Burleigh Heads. Jessica not only arrived at 5 am as promised, but she also turned up with bread she had freshly baked and an assortment of picnic treats for after the swim. It struck him that he had never met someone so willing to be a part of his life.
Down to earth and easy-going, everyone Jess meets instantly thinks she’s terrific. Rory shared a proud moment from a friend’s wedding, where Basil the goat kept escaping and nobody could catch him. Nobody except for Jessica, who, in her party dress, managed to tackle him to the ground, simultaneously securing the escape artist and Rory’s adoring heart!. He said
“She is easy to love. Jessica is honest, kind, independent, quirky, driven, and has a fantastic “can do” attitude.”
Jessica shared that Rory is definitely the Prince Charming she’s always hoped to find. She said she has never felt the same kind of love and happiness or excitement about being alive as she’s experienced with him.
“Rory is incredibly kind, caring and considerate. With his “no time like the present” attitude and “jack of all trades” skills, he is always the first person to put his hand up to help someone out.”
For Jessica and Rory, the everyday things are what makes the relationship what it is. They love their simple date nights at home when they have a glass of red while cooking dinner, occasionally stopping for some uncoordinated dancing to whatever music is playing. They love going for a walk together or spending time with friends and family.
Marriage Celebrants advice:
Courtney Gugusheff was Rory and Jess’ marriage celebrant. She was so friendly, so organised. Courtney had extraordinary attention to detail, making sure everything worked perfectly, including the music for walking down the aisle and the recessional, and delivered a heartwarming ceremony with some great advice.
“Honestly, life is grand because of simple things. It’s that feeling you get when you come home to the other person, that sense of calm and coziness. They’re the person you want to call when something good happens, or when it’s all just fallen apart. That’s the stuff that makes it so clear that you have found someone you just can’t be without.”
